Derby-day delight as Town sink Dynamos

FAILSWORTH Town under-12s claimed bragging rights in the Tameside Sunday League.

Goals from Anthony Farrell and Curtis Schofield clinched a 2-0 win over Failsworth Dynamos.

Dylan Marshall was the star of the show — he scored five times — as the under-13s swept aside Sporting Derker 9-1.

Mark Corcoran (two), Kevin Cook and own goal did the rest of the damage.

To complete a fine afternoon’s work for the Town outfit, the under-14s triumphed 6-2 against Oldham Greenhill. Chris Charlton and Dale Vernon weighed in with hat-tricks.


CHADDY End FC under-14s, with Chris Batters (two), Coby Tyrell, Matthew Crothers and Jake Green getting the goals, defeated AFC Stanley 5-2.

The under-14s had no trouble in overcoming Uppermill.

Chris Batters (three), Coby Tyrell (three), JJ Rigby (two), Matthew Crothers, Jake Green and Hayden Beatles helped themselves to goals.

Manchester Youth League

CHADDY End FC under-11s, thanks to goals from Joe Fagan and Andrew Smith, are through to the Manchester Youth League Cup final after a 2-1 win over Northside ‘A’.


Rochdale and Oldham Youth League

CHADDY End FC under-12s recorded a thrilling 3-2 win over Springhead in the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League.

On target for Chaddy End were Sam Haran, Ryan Mason and Lewis Henderson.

Under-14s eye trophy double

OLDHAM Schools under-14s are on course to complete a Greater Manchester Schools’ League double.

The town team did their manager Paul Ogden proud when they took the title at the end of February.

Oldham are now setting their sights on the Talbot Cup after the Easter holiday break. They will play Manchester in the final.
