CUP OF CHEER: 3D Dynamos under-11s ‘T’ are all smiles after retaining the Tameside and District Junior League’s Challenge Cup.
A FEW words of encouragement from Manchester United defender John O’Shea did the trick as 3D Dynamos under-11s ‘T’ retained the Tameside and District Junior League’s Challenge Cup.
O’Shea popped into the dressing room at the halftime before they went on to defeat Moston Brook 2-1 in the final at Woodley Sports Centre.
3D ’keeper William Wilson produced an excellent save to deny Brook before fine play from Jack Churchill and Sam Bagshaw set up Ben Ford for the opening goal.
Churchill doubled 3D’s lead from a George Kilgour cross, only for Brook to pull a goal back with four minutes left on the clock.
But 3D held on to take the trophy back to Delph.
3D under-12s gave it a real go against champions Moston Brook.
They came from behind on two occasions to draw level, before they eventually went down 4-2.
Danny Laithwaite and man-of-the-match Billy Jackson scored for 3D in a game which featured four goals in a five-minute spell.
With the title already in the bag, under-11s ‘M’ maintained their unbeaten record with a hard-fought 3-3 draw against Gamesley Villa.
They went in front courtesy of an own goal, but found themselves on the back foot when they conceded twice on the break.
Sean Murray restored parity before half-time and they went ahead through Remi Morris, only for Villa to get the goal to seal runners-up spot in the division.
CALLUM Fletcher (three), Matthew Walls, Corey Dinnen, Callum Viner, James Forde and Ryan Baldwin weighed in with the goals as Heyside JFC under-11s defeated Chaddy Rangers 8-0.Chaddy on a high after cup cracker
