3D DYNAMOS under-nines: cup winners
Three-way tie for top honours
BROADWAY Celtic, Littleborough and Springhead will share title success in the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League under-15s division after a thrilling end to the season.
Celtic overcame Springhead 3-2 with virtually the last kick of the game to go joint top.
However, Chaddy End FC would have pipped them both with victory over Littleborough. Instead, they went down to a 5-1 defeat, which hoisted Boro into a three-way tie for top honours.
Celtic’s late charge began with a 1-0 win over Chaddy End — James Leech got the only goal of the game — but they still needed to beat Springhead to stand any hope of being crowned champions.
They trailed 2-1 at the break — Johnny Window scored for Celtic — but equalised through Callum Lambert with half an hour to go.
The match was seemingly heading for a draw until Leech scored his second goal in as many games.
AFTER the disappointment of missing out on the title, Chaddy End FC under-15s will turn the attention to the Sunday’s County Cup final.
They face Manchester North End Boys, who are enjoying a fine season. They lifted the Tameside and District Junior League Cup and were beaten finalists in the Challenge Cup.
They also finished third in the Tameside Sunday League.
CHADDERTON FC Juniors under-12s had two reasons to celebrate.
They sealed the league title in style with an emphatic 8-1 defeat of Shawclough.
Wes Williams, Shaun Middleton (two), Bradley Humphreys (two), Liam Eadsforth, Matthew Goulding and Reece Mellor weighed in with the goals.
Three days later, they secured the double with a 2-0 win over Springhead in the Knock-out Cup final. Middleton and Eadsforth were the marksmen.
North Bury Junior League
THERE was agony and ecstasy for Chadderton Park in the North Bury Junior League.
Under-nines Eagles lost on penalties to Roach Dynamos in the League Cup final — George Whiteside-Burns scored for Park as the game finished 1-1 after extra time — but under-10s ‘B’ clinched the league title with an impressive 8-1 win over Radcliffe Town.
On target were Adam Fisher (two), Sam Jackson (two), Sam Carr (two), Nick Tavarozzi and Clayton Thomas.
Park’s ‘A’ team had already won their division.
The club are looking for more players as they move up to under-11s next season. For more details, call Ken on 07968 276065.
Play-off showdown for Avro
AVRO under-13s face a play-off against Brendon Bees tomorrow evening to decide the destiny of the East Manchester Junior League title.
The local outfit are looking to complete a double after they swept aside West End Boys in the Primary Cup final.
Dan Lindley (two), Jack Bostock, Zack Dresner-Barnes and Jake Jackson got the goals in the 5-1 win.
Avro forced a title play-off courtesy of a 5-0 defeat of Mossley Juniors. Jackson (two), Joe Ashworth, Nathan Brookes and Lindley were on the scoresheet.
HOT-SHOT Beth Mellor struck six times for Heyside Angels Clarets under-13s in the Oldham Girls League.
Mellor was the chief destroyer in the 7-1 defeat of Oldham Athletic. Shannon Ryan got the other goal.
But the Inter side, despite efforts from Danielle Partington (two), Leoni Harland, Catherine Todd and Paige Rowland, were beaten 7-5 by Curzon Ashton.
In an all Heyside Angels under-11s showdown, the Inter team booked their place in the League Cup final with a 4-1 win over the Clarets.
Caitlin Senior (two), Ellie Doggett and Caitlin Hall scored for Inter, while Ellie Deakin replied.
ROCS FC under-14s made smooth progress into the League Cup final.
They overcame Oldham Athletic 8-1, thanks to goals from Megan Jackson (two), Shona Ninian (two), Lauren Steel, Danielle Pickett, Fern Madeley and Amy Jones.
But the under-16s missed out on a place in the final as they were beaten 4-2 by Heyside Angels.
Faye Hardicre and Sarah Ryan scored for ROCS.
WITH a place in the last four of the Challenge Cup already assured, a relaxed Uppermill Rockettes under-13s team swept aside Denton 11-0.
Jayme Butler-Jones was the star of the show, scoring five goals, while Ellen Bergin bagged a hat-trick,
Kirsty Ashworth scored twice and Megan Ashton got the other in an excellent team performance.
Other results and scorers are —
UNDER-10S LEAGUE CUP FINAL: Heyside Angels Navys 8 (Ella Rigby 3, Lavinia Whitehead 4, Molly Taylor), Delamere Rangers 0.
RESULTS and scorers from the Manchester Mini-Soccer League are —
UNDER-10S: Broadway Celtic 1 (Matthew McCormack), Moston Brook 2; Heyside Juniors 7 (Jack Woodhead 3, Owen Shaughnessy 2, Alex Walkden, Jordan Wood), Failsworth West ‘B’ 0.

There was everything to play for after the first game which featured the ‘B’ teams. It ended in a 2-2 draw, with Oliver Sturge grabbing both 3D goals.
But the ‘A’ team match produced an emphatic 5-0 victory for 3D to complete a 7-2 aggregate win. On target were William Wright (two), Devon Matthews, Michael Jones and Lewis Burton.
3D DYNAMOS under-11s ‘W’ won the Stalybridge Celtic six-a-side tournament.

3D beat Droylsden, Stockport Juniors and Dukinfield on their way to reaching the last four, where they faced French side Armentieres.
In a tight game, the local outfit progressed courtesy of a first-half effort from Aaron Rogers
