CYCLIST Matthew Walls
PROMISING young cyclist Matthew Walls is on track for more glory.
The 11-year-old, a pupil at St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Shaw, heads to Scotland later this year hoping to win the under-12s National Track title.
A member of the Eastlands Velo Club, Matthew (pictured) won last year’s North West Cycling Series and the under-10s National Track event at Newcastle-under-Lyne.
He also completed a 180-mile coast-to-coast ride from Whitehaven to Sunderland.Champion Cyclist at St Josephs’ Shaw.
Stepping up to under-12s this year, talented Matthew is considered to be among the top tack cyclists in the country in his age category and has already finished ninth in the National Road Race event.
