OLDHAM under-11s cricketers failed to make a winning start to their Lancashire Schools’ Merit League campaign when their opening match against Bury fell victim to the weather.
It has been a frustrating start to the new season for district sides with only a couple of matches escaping the wet conditions.
But with brighter weather forecast, the under-11s were hoping for better fortunes today when they travelled to take on Wigan for another Merit League game.
