Double joy for Crompton

CROMPTON House enjoyed double joy at the Oldham Schools FA League play-off finals at Boundary Park — but they were denied a four-timer.
The Year Eights team were comprehensive 4-1 winners over Saddleworth, while the Year Nines defeated Radclyffe 3-1.
The school also reached the final of the Year Sevens competition, but they lost 2-0 to Crompton and Royton.
And they were no match for an impressive South Chadderton side who recorded a stunning 6-1 victory.
Our Lady’s won the Year 11s final. In a tight game, they edged out Failsworth Sports College 2-1.

Oldham Girls League
HEYSIDE Angels under-16’s lost 4-3 to Uppermill in the Oldham Girls League despite goals from Rachel McHugh (2) and Lois Jacobs.
Angels Clarets and Uppermill Rockettes fought out a superb match in the final of the under-13s League Cup.
After dumping out the favourites, Harpurhey, 4–2 in midweek with goals from Ellen Bergin, Megan Ashton, Jayme Butler-Jones and Kirsty Ashworth, the Rockettes went into the final eight games unbeaten and ready to take on the league runners up.
The game was a classic with the final locked at 2-2 after extra time and Uppermill winning the penalty shoot-out 5-4, with goalkeeper Cathy Bradfield making two brilliant saves.
Heyside under-12s went down 3-1 to Chadderton Park, Kinsa Hmami netting the goal.
Heyside under-11s Inter defeated Curzon Ashton 3-1 thanks to Jade Hughes (2) and Ellie Doggett, and under-10s Navys beat Harpurhey United 4-1 with a hat-trick from Ella Rigby and a goal from Molly Taylor.
ROCS under-14s turned in a cracking display against a useful Rochdale side to win 6-3 thanks to goals from Lauren Steel (3), Danielle Pickett (2) and Shona Ninian.
