HEYSIDE ‘A’ are hot on the heels of Shaw ‘A’ at the top of the under-15s division in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League.

The Little Hey Street outfit are two points adrift of the pacesetters after an emphatic nine-wicket win over Moorside, who were bowled out for 21.

Shaw ‘A’ were thankful for Drew Fullalove’s 48 in a total of 112 for eight against Glodwick at Holebottom Clough.

In reply, a young Glodwick side battled their way to 79 before losing their last wicket.

Stayley got off the mark at the expense of Heyside ‘B’, who were bowled out for 121 after being set 143 for victory.

Saddleworth ‘A’ are also in the hunt for the lead after a comfortable win over Uppermill.

Bradley Hadfield’s 48 helped them to reach 130 for six, and they wasted no time in dismissing Uppermill for 37.

Austerlands reached 133 for seven against Bamford Fieldhouse — Nathan Mayall made a solid 46 — before they limited their opponents to 76. Luke Du Feu was the outstanding bowler with five for 29.

Fine bowling from Evan Wood and Dale Evans, of Droylsden, restricted Shaw ‘B’ to 63 all out on a heavy pitch.

The duo went on to open the batting, adding 32 in the first five overs.

Shaw gave themselves hope with a couple of wickets, but Droylsden regrouped and reached their target with plenty to spare.
