Oldham girls bring home medals

TWO young gymnasts from Oldham turned in cracking performances at the Greater Manchester Open Gymnastics Championships, held in Warrington.

Daisy Navesey and Jade Goddard both train at the Heywood Sparks Gymnastics Academy and their hard work paid off.

Daisy competed in the Novice under-9 event and a fine display saw her win the gold medal on parallel bars and silver for the vault.

Jade was in the under-10s section and another excellent performance gave her a bronze on bars.
