SADDLEWORTH ‘A’ boast a 100-per-cent record in the under-13s division.
Sitting pretty at the top of the table, they made it eight wins out of eight against lowly Royton.
Chasing 41 for victory, Saddleworth reached their target for the loss of only one wicket.
Nearest pursuers Moorside were limited to 86 for six against Hollinwood, who were dismissed for 32 in reply.
Despite the efforts of Luke Ellis (30), Kieron Mayall (27) and Tom Berry (20) in a total of 102 for five, Austerlands found third-placed Droylsden too good.
Saddleworth ‘B’, meanwhile, came out on top in a thriller at home to Glodwick ‘B’.
The visitors achieved a season’s best of 125 for six, with Dominic D’Adamo and Callum Grady retiring on 30 for the first time in 2009.
Openers James Howard and Tom Fleming built a solid platform to Saddleworth’s reply — they also reached 30 — but some excellent bowling and fielding left the home side needing eight runs off the final over.
Cometh the hour, cometh the boy as Dominic Scott struck a six off the third ball to clinch Saddleworth a five-wicket win.
Joe Smith-Butler, Matthew Buckley and Abbu scored 30 apiece for Bamford Fieldhouse, who amassed 168 for five against Uppermill.
The Leafields outfit were never in the hunt as they completed their overs on 70 for eight.
Heyside would have settled for 146 for two when they took first knock against Shaw, but their opponents past the post with two overs to spare. Harry Sherrif struck 34 in just three overs.
