THE Saddleworth and District League’s under-13s representative team found the Bolton League batsmen in red-hot form on a warm afternoon at Austerlands Cricket Club.
Thanks to some excellent work in the field, the visitors were 120 for five at one stage from 20 overs.
However, a middle-order recovery saw them reach a mammoth 275, with J Bohannon scoring a superb 120.
The Saddleworth League, for whom Callum Openshaw (Bamford Fieldhouse) again excelled behind the stumps, were soon in trouble when it was their turn to bat.
They lost both openers in the fifth over, and despite noteworthy contributions from Ellis Heliere (Saddleworth ‘A’), Dane Cullen (Droylsden), Laurie Hughes (Shaw) and Luke Ellis (Austerlands), they were bowled out for 150.
Farakh Shanghir, of Saddleworth ‘A’, was unbeaten on 15, following on from his eight overs for only 26 runs.
