ROYTON’S successful under-11s cricket team defeated Darwen by 20 runs in their first match in the Lancashire eight-a-side pairs event at The Paddock.

Royton made 221 for seven before restricting Darwen to 201 for nine.

Aaron Tesz starred with bat and Adam Gray with the ball in a good team display.

Royton, who are unbeaten leaders of the CLL under-11s, were selected to represent the CLL in the Lancashire Cricket Board knockout.

In the winter, Royton won Oldham Cricket Development’s indoor six-a-side competition and five of their players are in the Oldham town team.
