Young guns hit rivals for six

ROYTON Cricket Club’s under-11s team batted and bowled their way to victory in the Wolstenholme Trophy at Radcliffe.
The annual tournament featured the leading teams from the CLL, Bolton and Salford Leagues.
Royton, who are unbeaten in the CLL under-11s division, beat Bury, Unsworth and Littleborough to top their group.
They then beat Clifton in the semi-finals before edging out Littleborough by two runs in an exciting conclusion to the competition.
Royton made 227 before restricting Boro to 225.
Royton are also the CLL’s representatives in the Lancashire knock-out in which they recently defeated Darwen in the first round round.
