Plum home draw

OLDHAM under-15s have received a plum home draw against Staffordshire side, Cannock, in Round 2 of this season’s ESFA Inter- Association Trophy.
The prestigious national title was lifted by neighbouring Stockport last season and Oldham, who received a first-round bye, will be hoping to make it through to the latter stages of the countrywide knockout competition this time round.
All first-round ties are scheduled to take place on or before Saturday, October 3 with second-round matches due a fortnight later on Saturday, October 17.
Other Round 2 ties include: Salford v Derby, Manchester v Rotherham, Wirral v Macclesfield, Ellesmere Port v Bolton or Bradford, Wakefield v Stockport or Chorley, Sheffield or Kingston Upon Hull v Bury, Blackburn v Sefton, Allerdale v West Lancashire, Liverpool or Barrow in Furness v Trafford.
OLDHAM Greenhill FC, who play in the Tameside Sunday League, want new players for teams at under-12s, 15s,16s and 17s level.

CHADDY End under-10s are on the lookout for new players for their team in the Tameside Mini-Soccer Saturday morning league.

CHADDERTON Park Juniors FC are holding a fund-raising dinner at Smokies Hotel, Bardsley, on Friday, September 18.

AFC OLDHAM 2005 of the Lancashire and Cheshire League are to stage a fund-raising event on the Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend, August 30.
Taking place at Manor Flatts, off Constantine Street, a number of Latics players will be present at an event which will be opened by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Jim McArdle.
There will be a host of stalls and a knock-out football tournament, with proceeds on the day to be split between the football club and Kidscan, a cancer charity for children.
