High hopes at High Barn

Passports to golfing success.
YOUNGSTERS at Crompton and Royton Golf Club are in the swing of things after successfully completing a course.
The junior section at the High Barn club is thriving, with 32 children aged between seven and 16 years passing Levels One and/or Two of the Golf Foundation’s ‘Junior Golf Passport.’
There are five levels and the youngsters will be continuing their studies in September when they will move on to the next stage.
Assistant professional Martin Beaty revamped the junior section earlier this year and this included the formation of a ‘kidz’ section for those under the age of 10.
Beaty has been joined by Karen Heywood – also an assistant professional at Crompton and Royton – in providing tuition for the next generation of players, and both are pictured with the youngsters.
