HEYSIDE JFC under-10s
HEYSIDE JFC under-10s are on a high as they prepare for the start of the new season.
The youngsters, who enjoyed a never-to-be-forgotten trip to Wembley Stadium, won the Mossley Juniors tournament at Seel Park.
Buoyed by recording a 100-per-cent record in the group stages, they beat Hollingworth Juniors 2-0 in the last four. Jack Dunkerley and Callum Kinney were on target.
The final, against 3D Dynamos, ended goalless, but Heyside held their nerve to edge the penalty shoot-out 2-1.
Dunkerley and Kinney were successful from the spot, while ’keeper Sulaiman Sajjad denied 3D twice to clinch the trophy for his team.
On an individual front, Kinney was named player of the tournament.
