New final date for Oldham

OLDHAM Schools under-15s will try for a second time on Saturday week to play their Lancashire Schools’ Ainsworth Trophy final against Rossendale.

The showdown, which was called off last Tuesday because of an unfit ground, will take place at Unsworth CC (start 10.45am).

They reached the final thanks to a fine eight-wicket win over Pendle after brushing aside West Lancashire in the last eight.

The squad is:

L De Feu, M Kenderdine, R Zelem (all Blue Coat), T Hindley (Mossley Hollins), J Lovell (Our Lady’s), C Hey (St Bede’s), T Rowlands (Crompton House), Z Tahir, R Shaw (Hulme Grammar), N Doyle (Audenshaw High), R Sloan (St Matthew’s High), B Hadfield, S Rhodes (Saddleworth).


Under-15s title at stake


HEYSIDE play host to Saddleworth in the play-off for the under-15s Saddleworth and District Cricket League title on Saturday (start 9.45am).

The two teams finished level on points at the top of the table.

o THE under-13s cup final goes ahead, weather permitting, at Well-i-Hole on Sunday (start 9.30am).

Saddleworth ‘A’, chasing a silverware double, are at home to Bamford Fieldhouse.

The final was postponed last weekend.
