NORTH END’S REVENGE

CHADDY End FC under-16s couldn’t follow up their County Cup success over Manchester North End when the two teams went head to head in the Tameside Sunday League.
The visitors emerged 2-0 winners in the mouth-watering opening-day clash at Clayton playing fields.
North End were avenging last season’s under-15s County Cup final defeat by Chaddy End.
Daniel Hawthorne (two), Danny Brown, Zak Porter and Chris Batters found the net for Chaddy End under-15s, who recorded a 5-2 win over Failsworth Dynamos.
But the club’s under-13s lost 7-0 to Moston Junior Reds .
FAILSWORTH Town under-13s, thanks to goals from C Landregan, D Marks, R Murray and C Thorpe (two), defeated Boundary Park Juniors ‘B’ 5-2 in the Tameside Sunday League.
The under-14s overcame Heyside Juniors 4-0 — K Cook, A Bowen, R Conway and D Marshall were the marksmen — and the under-16s swept aside AFC Oldham 6-1. D Vernon (three) M Dobson (two) from J Prince were on target.
SPRINGHEAD under-14s made a flying start to the new season.
Kaimmen Morris, Jordan Broadbent, Jordan Mortimer and Kareem James were on the mark in a 4-1 triumph over Tameside.
Jordan Broadbent’s 30-yard effort after skilfully evading several tackles was the pick of the goals.
AVRO Juniors under-13s brushed aside Failsworth Dynamos 8-0, and the under-19s recorded an emphatic 13-0 win over Chadderton Park Youth.
FAILSWORTH Dynamos, with goals from Liam Cashmore and Reece Lyndon, were 2-1 winners over Ashton United.
ROCS FC under-15s made a super start to the season with a 5-0 win over Sedgeley Park.
On target were Scott Reeves, with a hat-trick, Connor Hey and David Clegg.
