Eight-goal Springhead make impressive start
SPRINGHEAD under-13s hit the ground running in the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League.
They swept aside Shawclough 8-1, with all the goals coming in a hectic first half.
New-boy Riley Hamil scored a hat-trick, Jordan Boland got two, while the others came from Conner Bourne, Matt Hewitt and Tom Travis.
HEYSIDE Juniors under-16s went down 3-0 at home to Littleborough.
All the goals came in the first half and only ’keeper James Lord’s heroics saved them from a heavier deficit. Despite an improved second-half showing, Heyside could not get back into the match.
CROMPTON Villa under-13s were on the wrong end of a 6-3 scoreline against Kingsway.
The Villa goals came from to Jack Johnson, Matthew Naylor and Josh Croll.
CHADDY End FC under-15s, despite efforts from Jordan Holt and Matthew Singleton, were beaten 4-2 by Heywood Rangers.

Tameside and District Junior League
DARIUS Worsley and Michael Gill scored two each for Chadderton Juniors FC under-12s in a 6-1 defeat of Hyde United Tigers in the Tameside and District Junior League.
Reece Bromley and Danny Miller got the other goals.
Chadderton’s under-16s posted a comfortable 6-1 win over Hopwood Hall, and followed up with a 2-1 defeat of Medlock Rangers.
Mike Taylor and Tom Shaw notched hat-tricks against Hall, while substitute Anthony Curran scored a last-minute winner to defeat Rangers, who had cancelled out an effort from Taylor.
ROYTON Town enjoyed a 4-3 win over Brendon Bees, but the under-12s were beaten 6-1 by Denton Phoenix. Samuel Beddows scored the consolation.
CONOR Henley (two) and Liam Standring scored for Heyside JFC under-11s in a 3-1 win over Stalybridge Celtic.
Heyside Junior Blues were too good for Dukinfield Tigers.
Jack Woodhead (three), Owen Shaughnessy (two), Alex Walkden (two), George Riley (two), Alex Hunt, Connah Evans, Robert Crowder and Jack Littlewood did the damage in the 13-0 win.
The under-12s Junior side lost 1-0 to Stalybridge Celtic, and JFC under-12s were beaten 3-1 by Medlock Rangers. Matthew Walls netted for Heyside.
CAIN McClaughlin scored twice, while Tom Johnson and Joshua Beresford got one each, as Failsworth Dynamos under-11s ‘B’ defeated Heyside Juniors 4-1.
Bury and Radcliffe Junior League
ROYTON Town under-18s suffered a first-round exit in the Lancashire Youth Cup.
They went down 3-1 at Great Crosby United. Josh Fish got the consolation goal.
GOALS from Harry Odell and Prince were to no avail as Chaddy End FC under-16s were beaten 3-2 by CMBC.
East Manchester Junior League
AVRO Juniors under-14s, the reigning East Manchester Junior League champions, kicked off their new season in style.
First-half goals from Jake Jackson, Jack Bostock and Nathan Brooks, plus another Jackson effort after the break, clinched a 4-0 at Waterloo.
But the under-12 succumbed 7-1 to Middleton Lads and Girls.
