Second-half comeback stuns ’Mill

North Manchester Girls League

R.O.C.S FC under-16s showed a terrific attitude to pick up maximum points in the North Manchester Girls League.

Trailing 3-0 at half-time against Uppermill — Nichole Scott (two) and Ashlia Ball got the goals — they hit back to win 5-3.

On the mark in a super second-half display were Faye Hardicre (two), Megan Jackson, Emma Watson and Amy Ginty.

Ashleigh Spragg helped herself to a hat-trick as the under-13s overcame Uppermill 9-1.

Keeley Taylor (two), Abby Bennett, Robyn Bowerman, Leah Bickerstaffe and Courtney Thorpe made up the tally.

The under-15s enjoyed a hard-fought 4-2 win over Heyside Clarets thanks to doubles from Lauren Steel and Danielle Pickett.

ABBY O’Brien bagged a brace for Oldham Athletic Girls under-12s in a comfortable 5-1 defeat of Uppermill. Also on target were Laura Garlick, Tia Jackson and Olivia Stagg. Caitlin Hall replied.

The under-13s, featuring hat-tricks from Lidia Tunstall and Caprice MacSharry, swept aside Harpurhey United 11-0.

Emily Vale and Giogia Caffrey scored two apiece and Lauren Ainsworth got the other.

But the under-14s were beaten 5-2 by Uppermill — Megan Ashton (three), Kirsty Ashworth and Jess Hardie scored for ’Mill while Feiruz Abdulah and Chloe Austin got the consolation goals — and the under-11s also tasted defeat, losing 2-0 to Uppermill, for whom Tanya Ainsworth scored twice.

LAVINIA Whitehead struck four times and Molly Taylor hit a hat-trick as Heyside Angels Whites under-11s swept aside Droylsden 11-1.

Ella Rigby (two), Caitlin Patterson and Katy Halligan made up the tally.

Caitlin Senior got both goals for Angels Inter in a 2-1 defeat of Denton Girls, and under-14s Clarets, with Kelly Ward (three) and Bethany Mellor on target, overcame Curzon Ashton 4-2.

CHADDERTON Park under-13s registered a 2-1 win over Heyside Angels Clarets, for whom Natalie Giblin replied.
