The Oldham schools squad
MATTHEW SINGLETON hit a hat-trick as Oldham Schools under-15s recorded a 4-2 win over Cannock in round two of the ESFA Inter-Association Trophy at The Lancaster Club.
The Crompton House hot-shot put the town team ahead after 10 minutes, before D’arcy O’Conner (Hathershaw) doubled their tally with a tremendous 25-yard strike.
Oldham added a third in the early stages of the second half through Singleton, who completed a terrific treble moments later.
The under-15s had numerous chances to extend their advantage, but it was Cannock who got on the scoresheet with two late goals.
Meanwhile, the under-14s challenge match between Oldham and Ribble Valley was postponed.
