THERE were goals galore when Uppermill under-14s went head to head with their Harpurhey United counterparts in the North Manchester Girls League.
All square at the interval — the score was 3-3 — ‘Mill added six more goals to their tally to United’s three in a prolific second-half to record a stunning 9-6 win.
Megan Ashton got four, Jayme Butler-Jones and Ellen Bergin bagged two each, while Jess Hardie got the other.
Laura Barlow and Katie Lockwood were on the scoresheet for Uppermill under-11s but their efforts were to no avail as they were beaten 11-2 by a stronger Curzon Ashton outfit.
The under-12s also tasted defeat, going down 4-0 to Heyside Angels.
A HAT-TRICK from Megan Tindall, plus Sian Greenwood’s effort, clinched a 4-1 win for Oldham Athletic Girls against Glossop North End.
But the under-13s lost 7-0 to Stockport and the under-16s succumbed 5-0 to ROCS FC, for whom Rhema Mears (two), Lauren Steel, Danielle Pickett and Shona Ninian got the goals.
ABBY Bennett struck four times as ROCS FC under-13s defeated improving Harpurhey Saints 6-2.
Leah Bickerstaffe and Robyn Bowerman got the other goals, while and the under-16s recorded a 5-2 victory over Moston Juniors.
Megan Jackson weighed in with a treble, with Faye Hardicre and Angela Fox getting the others.
CHADDERTON Park under-13s were beaten 10-2 by Denton Girls.
