JOEL MELIA struck twice as Heyside Juniors under-15s booked their place in round three of the County Cup.

The North Bury Junior League outfit also had Zohab Zaman and Ryan Slack on the scoresheet in the 4-0 defeat of Urmston Town.

But the under-15s team from the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League were beaten 7-1 by Wythenshawe Town. Jack Warburton bagged the consolation.

AVRO Juniors under-13s continued their quest for County Cup success with an 8-0 win over Irlam Town.

FAILSWORTH Town, thanks to D Vernon’s four-goal salvo and M Armstrong’s effort, beat Dukinfield Tigers 5-2.

But the under-13s were beaten 11-1 by Didsbury Junior Reds. C Schofield scored the consolation goal.

Huddersfield and District Junior League

IT was a case of lucky 13 for 3D Dynamos under-12s in division two of the Huddersfield and District Junior League.

They maintained their 100-per-cent record with a 13-1 win over Dalton Dynamos.

Aaron Rogers, Charlie Maslen and Joe Connolly registered hat-tricks, while Ellis Forshaw and Tom Ireson got two each in the one-sided encounter.

Under-11s ‘M’ defied atrocious weather conditions to pile up the goals.

They triumphed 11-1 over Dewsbury Rangers, thanks to goals from Alex Milovanovic (four), Sam Wilson (two), Joe Whipday (two), Lewis Newton, Marcus Schofield and Harry Stephenson.

But the under-16s wasted a hatful of chances as they were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-of-the-table Netherton. Sam Joyce scored for 3D.

UPPERMILL under-17s got their just rewards for a hard-working display as they registered a 2-2 draw against Ryburn Valley.

Joel Longmore put the local outfit ahead early on, but Valley dominated the remainder of the half and drew level before the break.

’Mill fell behind just after restart, but they refused to throw in the towel and debutant Jake Humphries drove home to earn a share of the spoils.
