WITH their closest rivals without fixtures, Chaddy Hoppers under-13s Red stormed into a six-point lead in the North Bury Junior League.

Matty Goulding bagged a brace twice, while Gilly Clarke, Dan Javed and Andy Robbins got one apiece in the 5-0 defeat of Farnworth Wildcats in difficult conditions

But under-13s Blue, who started the day second in the table, were beaten 5-1 by Bridge Hawks.

Elliott Moss scored for belowpar Hoppers, in a game where the form book was turned upside down.

Under-14s Red went down with all guns blazing against top-of-the-table Broughton Brazilians.

Two goals adrift inside 10 minutes, Martin Kenny halved the deficit, before a 25-yard screamer from Jac Raffa restored parity.

But it was high-flying Broughton who clinched a 3-2 victory late on.
