Cup-tie joy for Rangers

RUGBY: SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-15s piled up the points as they booked a semi-final berth in the Lancashire Cup.
Free-scoring Rangers ran-in 11 tries, eight of which were converted by Ben White, in a 60-4 defeat of Folly Lane.
Chris Bolton opened the floodgates, sprinting more than half the length of the pitch for the first of his two tries.
Folly Lane responded to make it 6-4 and looked comfortable for a time, but once Lewis Galbraith went over for a try — he added another later on — it was one-way traffic.
Ryan Maneely and Danny Richardson each notched a hat-trick, while Josh Bradbury, who missed the second half because of injury, got the other in a superb display.
Apart from his kicking duties, man-of-the-match White had a busy game in all departments, his creativity a big feature of the game.
HIGGINSHAW Eagles under-15s are also setting their sights on Lancashire Cup glory.
They cruised into the last eight of the competition with an impressive 44-0 win over Woolston Rovers in difficult conditions.
Tries came from Nyle Rayburn (three) Paddy Fitzsimmons (two), Jack Hughes, Bradley Turner, David Percival and Emmerson Goddard. Josh Quennan and Hughes added the extras.
