Joy as Lyndhurst net basketball bonanza
BASKETBALL: BOYS and girls from Years Five and Six had a slam-dunking experience at a Counthill cluster schools basketball tournament.
Eight schools were in action, and it was Lyndhurst who came out on top after they defeated Knowsley 8-4 in the final.
They won all three of their pool games — they finished ahead of Knowsley in the four-strong group — to qualify for the last four, where they overcame St Mary’s 10-6.
Knowsley recorded a 14-2 win over St John’s in the other semi-final to set up a repeat of an earlier pool match, but the outcome was the same as Lyndhurst clinched victory.
Hodge Clough, Limehurst, Yew Tree and Our Lady’s also took part.
