KICK-BOXING:
SIOBHAN MOORE is basking in gold-medal glory.
The Year Nine pupil from Saddleworth School was a cut above her rivals at the World Karate and Kicking-Boxing Council Champion-ships (WKC) in Dublin.
The talented teenager was crowned under-40kg champion of the light continuous section for girls up to 13 years of age.
Siobhan, from Uppermill, was declared a unanimous winner by the judges after two, two-minute rounds of action.
And her medal success didn’t end there as she also scooped a silver in the individual points category and bronze in the team points competition.
A member of Evade Martial Arts in Hyde, Siobhan qualified for the WKC event, which involved 13 countries, after impressing in the English National Championships.
She bagged a silver in the points and a bronze in the light continuous, which won her a place on the England team for Dublin.
Siobhan, who turns 14 in April, is determined to take part in the 2010 renewal when she will step up to the under-45kg cadet division (13 to 16 years).
She will also work towards her black belt grading.
