Key test for schoolboys

OLDHAM under-15s are counting down to make-or-break Saturday in the Greater Manchester Schools League (kick-off 10.30am).
The town team lock horns with Manchester in a triple header, held over from last weekend when frost put paid to the fixture.
Bad weather, resulting in a huge fixture backlog, has forced the protagonists to merge three games into one.
Oldham will be hoping to gain valuable Greater Manchester Schools’ League points as well as booking a place in the semi-finals of the County Cup, where they would meet Bolton or Tameside if victory was achieved.
They have also drawn Manchester in the preliminary round of the North West Alder-Owen Trophy and the spoils in that tie are also up for grabs at the Lancaster Club.
Oldham under-14s are in Greater Manchester Schools League action at Rochdale on Saturday.
