Hot-shot Hartley records another hat-trick feat

FOOTBALL: ASHLEY HARTLEY was the hat-trick hero for Chadderton Juniors FC under-12s in the Tameside and District Junior League.

The young sharp-shooter registered his second treble in as many games in the 4-2 success over Hyde United Tigers.

Danny Miller got Chadderton’s other goal.

The club’s under-16s, including a hat-trick from Michael Clune, maintained their pursuit of the title with a resounding 5-0 win at Medlock Rangers.

Mike Taylor and Tom Shaw were the other marksmen.

Chadderton and Rangers meet again on Saturday in the last four of the League Cup.

MATTHEW Gibson scored the consolation goal as Chaddy End under-11s were beaten 4-1 by Wythenshawe.

A DRAW is all ROCS FC under-15s require to clinch North Manchester Girls League title glory on Saturday.

But standing in the way are their own club’s under-16s side, who can force a play-off for top honours — they play in the same division — with victory at Royton and Crompton (kick-off 8.45am).

ROCS under-15s moved within touching distance of the title with a hard-fought 4-2 win against Heyside Angels.

Lauren Steel, with a hat-trick, and Rhema Mears were on target.

The under-13s produced their best display of the season to rout Unicorn Athletic 7-0.

On the mark were Abby Bennett (three), Ashleigh Spragg (two) and Alys Wild and Rachel Robinson.

CHADDERTON Park under-13s were beaten 3-2 by Stockport County.

CHADDY Hoppers under-14s Reds recovered from a half-time deficit to defeat Roach Dynamos 3-2 in the North Bury Junior League.

Trailing 2-1 at the midway point — Martin Kenny had put Hoppers in front — they levelled through another Kenny effort.

And, with five minutes to go, Joshua Brierley scored his second goal of the season to snatch the spoils.
