Eight-wicket haul seals victory

CRICKET: AUSTERLANDS bowlers were on top in their Oldham Cricket Development Group under-11s Indoor League game against Saddleworth One.
The Thorpe Lane outfit amassed 266 for four from their allotted overs. Richard Wilson weighed in with two wickets.
Saddleworth, boasting a strong batting line-up, would have been confident of reaching their target.
But Austerlands claimed eight wickets to record a 10-run win. William Wright and Wilson made 15 and 17 respectively.
Shaw, the leaders, marched on with a seven-run defeat of Heyside, who compiled 230 for three. Barlow, Gibson and Birtwistle all took one wicket apiece.
In the final game at Oldham Sports Centre, Woodhouses posted a 49-run victory over Uppermill who, taking first knock, scored 215 for four. Todd, Mears and Hanrahan were among the wicket-takers.
The result was never in any doubt as Woodhouses finished on 264 for two. Ben Atkinson made 15.
At the Millennium Centre, Royton One proved too strong for Saddleworth Two.
They made 237 for three in reply to 213 for nine.
Royton Two couldn’t match the efforts of their club colleagues as they were beaten by Glodwick One. The scores were 253 to 233.
Despite losing only three wickets, Glodwick Alt managed just 210 against Glodwick Two.
In reply, Glodwick Two smashed 267 for two to register a comfortable victory.Oldham’s sights on last four.
