Chadderton eye silverware glory

YOUTH FOOTBALL: CHADDERTON Juniors FC under-16s are hoping to atone for last season’s disappointment when they tackle Denton Phoenix in the Tameside and District Junior League Cup final.
The teenagers had to make do with losers’ medals 12 months ago, but they go into Saturday’s game at Ashton United’s Hurst Cross ground full of confidence (kick-off 5.30pm).
They reached their second consecutive final thanks to last weekend’s 3-1 win over Medlock Rangers. Mike Taylor scored twice for Chadderton and Jack Beasley got the other.
DARIUS Worsley scored the consolation goal as Chadderton Juniors FC under-12s were beaten 7-1 by Clayton Villa.
ALEX Gregory (two), Shaun Freeman, Kane Hughes and Danny Turner scored for Failsworth Dynamos under-15s in a 5-2 defeat of Medlock Rangers in the Challenge Cup.
HEYSIDE Juniors under-11s can look forward to a last-four tie in the League Cup after an 8-0 defeat of Brendon Bees.
Liam Standring and Conor Henley notched trebles, while Kade Howarth and Jack Altamis got the other goals.
DANIEL Lewis was the star of the show for Heyside Juniors under-14s in a 5-1 defeat of Manchester Maccabi in the Tameside Sunday League.
The young hot-shot scored four times and Ben Durrant got the other.
DESPITE goals from Chris Batters (two) and Joe Burgoyne, Chaddy End under-15s bowed out of the League Cup after a 4-3 defeat by Failsworth Dynamos.
But the under-16s are through to the next stage of the competition thanks to a 2-1 defeat of Fletcher Moss. Tom Proctor and Aiden Ball were the marksmen.
In the league, Dillon Skinner scored four goals for Chaddy End under-14s in an emphatic 13-0 victory over Boundary Park Juniors.
Madi Jammeth (three), Charlie Burton (two), James Moore (two), Oliver Cleeworth and Zak Morris made up the tally.
ROCS under-15s, with goals from Luke Bean, Scott Reeves and Liam Kelly, produced their best performance of the season so far in a 3-0 win over Oldham Boys.
CHADDERTON Park under-11s Cobras, with Connor Evans (three), James Collins (two) and Matt Cunningham on the mark, defeated Moston Valley 6-3.
BROADWAY Celtic under-11s, including a hat-trick from Adrian Ashcroft, swept aside Moston Valley 5-2 in the Manchester Youth League.
Dan Fearnley and Matthew McCormack were the other marksmen.
KEITEL Howarth helped himself to four goals and George Owen bagged a hat-trick as 3D Dynamos Sharks under-11s overcame 3D Dynamos Tigers 8-1.
Jack Lees made up the Sharks’ tally with his first goal of the season.

AVRO FC are on the look-out for managers to run under-10s and under-11s teams to play on Saturday mornings next season.
The club also require players for the aforementioned age levels.
