FOOTBALL:
A QUICK double wrecked Oldham under-15s’ hopes of progress in the County Cup and North-West Alder Owen Trophy.
The clash against Manchester was deemed as a triple-header as Greater Manchester Schools League points were also at stake.
But Oldham were two goals adrift inside the first eight minutes and, although they pulled one back through Connor Hughes (Radclyffe), Manchester added another late on to record a 3-1 win.
There was also disappointment for the under-14s, beaten 1-0 by Trafford in the last eight of the Talbot Cup.
Oldham tried their utmost to force an equaliser and went close through Billy Burgess (Radclyffe) and Elliott Mesan (North Chadderton).
