FOOTBALL: HEYSIDE JFC under-11s tasted Tameside and District Junior League Cup success at Ashton United’s Hurst Cross ground.

They defeated Clayton Villa 2-1 in the final thanks to goals from Conor Henley and Liam Standring.

Under-11s Juniors were beaten 6-2 by Uppermill — Corey Fox and Corey Pearson scored the consolation goals — but a hat-trick from Jordan McLoughlin helped clinch a 4-2 win for the under-12s over Hyde United Tigers. Noel Tottoh got the other goal.

3D DYNAMOS under-12s showed bucketloads of spirit to draw 3-3 against Medlock Rangers in the Tameside and District Junior League.

They were behind on three occasions, but fought back to earn a share of the spoils.

Sam Bagshaw bagged a brace, while Joe Connolly grabbed the third with only seconds remaining.

The under-13s failed in their attempt to register back-to-back wins over Haughton Rangers.

A goal adrift after 20 seconds, 3D conceded two more in the first half.

Danny Laithwaite pulled one back just before the hour mark, but Rangers clinched a 4-1 victory moments later.

JORDAN Hardman and JJ Fraay hit trebles for Chaddy End under-11s in an emphatic 10-1 defeat of Failsworth Dynamos. Robbie Wilkinson and Matthew Gibson shared the other goals.

After losing 7-2 to their opponents the previous week, they hit back to win 1-0 thanks to a Luke Butler header.

Hoppers turn the tables

CHADDY Hoppers under-13s Red were on a revenge mission when they locked horns against Whitworth in the North Bury Junior League.

And they completed their task with flying colours, registering a 4-0 win to make up for the 7-2 defeat inflicted by last weekend’s opponents earlier in the season.

On target for Hoppers were Josh O’Donnell (two), Matty Goulding and Dan Javed.

But under-13s Blue produced a below-par display as they slumped to a 4-1 defeat against Bridge Hawks. Elliott Moss scored the consolation goal.

Under-14s Red had their backs to the wall against Monton Amateurs after Ben Turner had put the Hoppers outfit in front.

Monton were level by half-time and were denied a second when Will Brown saved a penalty.

And Brown’s spot-kick heroics were to prove decisive as, with 30 seconds to go, Martin Kenny clinched a 2-1 win for Hoppers.

Injuries meant Hoppers under-16s could only field 10 players against Glenross, but they still managed to emerge victorious by virtue of a 3-2 scoreline.

Kelvin Mupa got the all-important goal after a double from Kyle Latham, whose first was a 30-yard wonder strike.
