FOOTBALL:

EIGHT was great for Oldham Athletic Girls under-11s hot-shot Megan Tindall.

The St Margaret’s School pupil, from Hollinwood, scored eight goals in a North Manchester Girls League game against Curzon Ashton.

And as a reward for her brilliant effort, Megan’s parents bought her a new pair of football boots.

“Megan eats and breathes football,” said mum Vanessa. “She is huge Liverpool fan and her favourite player is Fernando Torres.

“She takes everything in her stride and loves scoring goals. It doesn’t matter what angle, she always tries to get a shot away.

“Megan scored four in a game earlier in the season, but she has never done anything quite like this before.”

The 11-year-old trained at Failsworth Dynamos before joining Oldham Athletic Girls last season.

She was the manager’s player of the year in 2008/09, helping her side finish runners-up in the league.
