Rampant Rangers’ Chronicle Cup joy!

Some thrilling rugby took place at the Oldham Chronicle Cup finals day, hosted by Saddleworth Rangers. Pictured are delighted Waterhead under-13s, who celebrated their win by lifting the trophy after collecting their medals. They beat the hosts, but Rangers went on to lift titles of their own in different age groups.
SADDLEWORTH Rangers claimed two of three titles on Oldham Chronicle Cup finals day.
Waterhead's under-13s began the day at Shaw Hall Bank Road by sweeping aside Rangers 60-6, which included four tries from Matthew Jackson, three from man-of-the-match Daniel Farefoul and one apiece for Billy McDermott and Rob Wood.
Adam Wells kicked 10 goals for Waterhead, while Saddleworth's sole try and goal were both scored by J Brocklehurst.
Saddleworth Rangers came out on top in the under-14s final, defeating Oldham St Anne's 42-6 with Bowden Morgan claiming man-of-the-match.
Joe Boulter, James Mayers and James Fowles all crossed early on, Dominic D'Adamo adding three conversions and a penalty for a 20-0 half-time lead.
Fowles completed his hat-trick after the break with Jed Mawdsley and D'Adamo also touching down.
The victory followed up a 24-20 triumph over Hindley a day earlier in the final of the North- West Counties Development Cup.
Saddleworth recovered from an early setback to win through tries from Sebastian Leech (two), Fowles, Boulter (two), plus a goal apiece for Cameron Matthews and D'Adamo.
In the under-15s Chronicle Cup final, Rangers beat depleted Higginshaw by a 32-10 scoreline.
Tom Hilton, Bobby Crossley, Ben White and Lewis Galbraith scored for Rangers in the first half for a 20-0 lead, White also converting twice.
Galbraith's second try, one for Danny Richardson and a White goal extended the lead before Higginshaw hit back courtesy of efforts from Jamie Mayall and Callum Deakin.
