Classic climax to cup

YOUTH FOOTBAL:
FREE-FLOWING football, tense ties and brilliant battles all featured in the Oldham Schools Knockout Cup Finals.
Youngsters showcased their talent at the Lancaster Club, Failsworth, and the eagerly-anticipated action certainly didn’t disappoint.
There was double delight for Failsworth. Their Year Sevens saw off Blue Coat to win the final 3-1.
And over in the Year 10 category, they lifted the trophy after a nervy 3-2 victory at the expense of South Chadderton.
Elsewhere Radclyffe raced to victory in Year Eight, beating Counthill 6-0.
In another nail-biting affair Our Lady’s won 3-2 against Royton and Crompton in the Year Nines.
And it was North Chadderton’s day in the Year 11s.
They were confirmed top dogs in their age group following a narrow 2-1 triumph over Saddleworth.
Results-
Year Sevens: Failsworth 3, Blue Coat 1.
Year Eights: Radclyffe 6, Counthill 0.
Year Nines: Our Ladys 3, Royton and Crompton 2.
Year 10s: Failsworth 3, South Chadderton 2.
Year 11s: North Chadderton 2, Saddleworth 1.
