RUGBY: OLDHAM St Anne's under-10s produced an excellent team performance to see off a strong and determined Accrington Wildcat side by eight points to four.

Prop Macauley Jones, the boy of the match, opened the scoring with a strong drive that was equalised by the visitors.

The game was heading for a draw before Michael Grabowski scored the winning try with the last play of the game.

Jack Smyth weighed in with a fantastic display to earn the top tackler award, with hooker Adam Goodwin taking the most improved gong.

Saints are on the lookout for coaches to help next season, mainly at under-eights and under-11s levels.

Anyone interested is asked to call coach co-ordinator Dave Charles on 07986 715556.

Joshua Fish was boy of the match as St Anne's under-11s lost 18-12 at home to Latchford Albion.

The Warrington visitors scored first before a converted try by James Barran levelled and that was how it stayed until half-time.

Saints took the lead through a try from Regan Croft, who also added the extras.

But even though St Anne's had plenty of possession, they couldn't turn it into points and Latchford edged the game.

Cameron Molloy was top tackler for the home side, with Oliver Depetrillo also showing up well.

Brandon Turner, Sam Thackeray and boy of the match Michael Cashin all scored a pair of tries each as St Anne's under-eights saw off Accrington.

Top tackler Finbar Martindale and special award winner Bailey Rathmill got the other two for Saints, who won by eight tries to five.

The visitors only had six available players which led to several Saints players guesting for the opposition at various points in the game.

SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-10s produced a good all-round performance to see off in-form Wigan St Cuthbert's 32-24.

Nathan Burgess, Matt Tetlow and Kieran Elkin scored first-half tries for Rangers, two of which were converted by Matt Fletcher and Elkin for a 16-12 half-time lead.

Guy Edwards' superb try was followed by two for Cuthbert's before Edwards was at it again, his second effort added to by a Finn Gallagher goal.

A second of the game for Burgess sealed the victory.

Rangers under-eights lost narrowly to Wigan St Cuthbert's despite a strong defensive effort.

A pair of Robbie Coates efforts weren't quite enough to prevent a loss by three tries to two, on a day when Rangers saw strong performances from man-of-the-match Sam Eyres, top tackler Elliott Noble and most improved player Kien Molloy.
