Oldham pegged back

OLDHAM under-14s has to settle for a share of the spoils after being held to a 1-1 draw by Bury in the Greater Manchester Schools’ League at St Gabriel’s School.

It was Oldham who took the lead after 18 minutes through a superb strike from Ben Turner (North Chadderton).

The under-14s had ample opportunity to add to their tally after the restart with captain Regan Walker (Counthill) in particular causing the Bury defence countless problems.

But Oldham came to rue those missed chances as Bury hit back to level the scores courtesy of a Harry Mason goal with just 15 minutes left.

Oldham, who are likely to finish midtable, play Rochdale this weekend before a trip to Wigan on May 22.
