Water way to perform!

SWIMMING:

OLDHAM Amateur Swimming Club enjoyed success in the Central Lancashire Championships and age group gala.

Jessica Fullalove (16), took gold in the 100 metres backstroke and 200m individual medley.

She also added silvers in the 100m butterfly and bronzes in the 100m freestyle event.

Sixteen-year-old Hannah Clegg was champion in the 100m breaststroke.

In the junior league galas, Hannah, Jessica, Chloe Basnett and Rhiannon Prestage won in the freestyle, medley and squadron relays in the 16 years and under age group with Harry Entwistle, Sam Hill, Ian Martin and Ash Ratchford winning the freestyle relay event.

The mixed teams came out on top with Chloe, Harry, Rhiannon and Ash clinching the squadron relay and Ian joining the same trio of girls for victory in the freestyle event.

In the mixed relay events Oldham cemented their 55-48 gala victory over Eccles by winning eight of the 12 events.

The club’s youngest swimmers, Olivia Bolton, Imogen Sleith, Lauren Scott, Joe Ireland and Max Flanagan made their debuts in a 58-45 triumph against Bury and Elton.
