Saints earn late draw

RUGBY: DESPITE trailing on more than one occasion, hosts Oldham St Anne’s under-11s earned a 12-12 draw with Leigh East.
Behind to a converted try, Josh Fish was the first to react to a loose ball to score for Saints, Owen Baldwin converting.
After the break the visitors went ahead and looked set for victory until the last play of the game, when James Barran squeezed in at the corner.
Regan Croft landed the top tackler award.
SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-10s lost 30-16 to Mayfield, but took plenty of positives from the display.
Rangers broke out of their own half and, from Finn Gallagher’s accurate boot, Nathan Roebuck touched down.
Mayfield soon replied with two tries, which were both converted.
Guy Edwards responded with an unconverted try as Rangers went into the break 12-8 down.
Mayfield immediately worked the ball over the Rangers line for a converted try.
Josh Molloy put the ball down for Rangers and Roebuck quickly added another, only for a Mayfield try put the game beyond doubt.
Gallagher was man of the match, with Kia Armstrong being named top tackler.
