MAKING A SPLASH: Greenfield student Katy Andrew.

A GREENFIELD student has been making waves in the world of water polo.
Katy Andrew (13) has been selected for the North West under-15s regional team.
Katy and her team-mates at Manchester High School for Girls (MHSG) won the English Schools’ under-16s Championships.
She said: “I have always been a keen swimmer and it seemed like a natural choice to try my hand at water polo.
“I have been playing for over three years now and it has definitely become my favourite sport.
“I already play for the City of Manchester Water Polo Club, so to have the opportunity to represent the region as well is fantastic.
“I’m hoping that this development will set me on my way to play for my country which is my ultimate sporting ambition.”
Water polo international Chloe Wilcox, a swimming and water polo teacher at MHSG, said: “Katy always puts in 100-per-cent effort and although she is one of the youngest members of the school team she is able to compete well at this higher level.”
