SADDLEWORTH ‘B’ under-15s enjoyed a last gasp victory over their ‘A’ team rivals.

Sam Mellor’s 55 (retired) not out helped the ‘A’ team to 108 for two.

In return a resilient 27 from Ben Corbett secured victory with two balls left.

Meanwhile, table-toppers Shaw ‘A’ kept their lead with victory over Droylsden at Holebottom Clough.

Droylsden, thanks to Evan Wood’s 51 (ret) not out, totalled 116 all out.

This was never going to be enough against a solid Shaw ‘A’ batting performance, Joe Burgoyne top scoring with 42 as the home side reached 117 for two.

Heyside enjoyed a victory over joint-third placed Bamford Fieldhouse.

Bowling the visitors out for 78 set them on their way to victory with the loss of just four wickets, with Daniel Linley top-scoring on 27.

An under-strength Royton team provided relatively easy opposition for Glodwick in a low- scoring match.

When Royton restricted their opponents to 85 for nine they would have been confident of reaching this target.

But tight bowling saw the reply finish on 70 for nine.

Friarmere enjoyed a comfortable victory over Shaw ‘B’, who recorded 102 for two, Matthew Allot posting 34 not out.

However, Friarmere never looked in any danger of letting their advantage slip and 44 not out from K Ali helped them reach their target with seven wickets in hand.

Uppermill were unable to raise a team against Austerlands.

In the under-17s category, Uppermill finished on 88 for three but opponents Heyside reached the target without loss, Matt Robinson making 50.

Luke De Feu contributed 50 towards Austerlands’ 154 for two against Saddleworth, who finished 25 runs short of their goal for the loss of two wickets.

Ben Ingham took four for nine for Friarmere against Shaw, who ended on 63 for six.

Friarmere won with six wickets in hand, James Allot posting 42.

Milnrow recorded 146 without loss against Glodwick, John Lowe scoring 52, prior to opponents Glodwick finishing on 71 for five.

Bamford Fieldhouse raced to 112 for three against Moorside, who could only muster 78 for nine in reply.

Defeat brings under-11s back down to earth

The Tamesiders restricted them to 96 for nine, prior to reaching their target for the loss of one wicket.

Oldham under-15s take on Bury’s senior side at Woodhouses tomorrow.
