Skipper’s son is star of the show

STAR: Nathan Jones.
CRICKET: DELPH skipper Grant Jones is a very proud man - and not just because his side are making a good impression in the Drakes Huddersfield League premiership.
His son Nathan (11) opened the bowling for Lancashire under-11s in their win over Durham.
And he dazzled onlookers by claiming five for eight off just six overs in the match at Atherton.
Lancashire reached their target with seven wickets in hand.
Grant said: “I’m absolutely chuffed, he played so well, it made everyone sit up and take notice.”
Nathan was bitten by the cricket bug at an early age after watching his dad.
“He has been playing since he was six-years-old,” Grant added.
“I suppose he had no choice but to get into cricket after watching me every weekend!”
Look out for Nathan’s progress in future editions of your Oldham Evening Chronicle.
