CRICKET: JAMES Howard has produced his best performance so far for Lancashire under-11s.
The St Mary’s, Greenfield, pupil made 30 and claimed three for 40 with his leg spin against Warwickshire at Kenilworth Cricket Club.
But Howard’s efforts were in vain as the hosts, in reply to Lancashire’s total of 143, recorded a four-wicket win.
Team-mate Nathan Jones, who attends Knowsley Junior School, scored 15 and took two for 36.
Lancashire’s next match is against Yorkshire at Barkisland CC on Tuesday. They then play Nottinghamshire at Denton St Lawrence CC on Thursday week.
