SPORTING teens from Oldham won a special commemorative trophy for their success in netball during the 2009-10 season.
Year 10 girls at Hulme Grammar were crowned the Under-14 National Schools’ Champions, while players at Oldham Sixth-Form College topped the North-West Conference League after winning all 12 of their matches.
In recognition of their achievements, the teams were jointly awarded the Pat Greenwood Memorial Trophy by her husband Mike Greenwood. The teams will share the trophy.
Mrs Greenwood, along with her husband, helped to establish Oldham Netball Club in 1987 and dedicated her life to netball across Oldham and Lancashire.
After her death in 2008, the memorial trophy was created to honour teams which have excelled in netball.
