Uppermill hold nerve

CRICKET: UPPERMILL under-17s were nearly overhauled by Moorside in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League.
A score of 152 for three looked enough but Moorside ran them close, posting 140 for five.
Glodwick were dismissed for 59 by leaders Austerlands, who reached their target with six wickets in hand.
Shaw recorded 99 for four only to see Droylsden clinch a six-wicket victory.
The rain ruined what was promising to be an exciting finish between Friarmere and Stayley.
In a tense encounter, Stayley needed nine runs from two overs with the last pair at the wicket when the downpour arrived.
The match was drawn, with Friarmere having made 85 for six and Stayley stuck on 77 for nine.
There was no weekend action in the under-15 or under-13 categories.
