SWIMMING: Teenager Jessica Lloyd has been back amongst medals after making waves overseas.

Jessica (15) was part of the women’s 4x100 metre freestyle relay team that clinched silver at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Helsinki. The girls finished just half a second behind Germany.

On her return to England the Saddleworth School pupil, who swims for Oldham Aquatics and Saddleworth, was off to the ASA National Youth Championships in Sheffield.

Jessica bagged gold in the 50m freestyle courtesy of a new personal best of 26.38, before claiming silver in the 100m freestyle, again setting a fresh pb of 56.29.

To put the icing on the cake, she helped the relay sides secure gold in the 4x100m freestyle, silver in 4x200m freestyle and bronze in 4x100m individual medley.
