A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL . . . youngsters show off medals after the Hathershaw Netball Youth Group League.
NETBALL caught the imagination of more than 100 youngsters thanks to some thrilling matches.
Hathershaw Netball Youth Group League welcomed 120 boys and girls as 20 teams battled it out in under-11, under-12 and under-14 divisions, followed by a final tournament.
Coaches from Oldham Netball Club and Tameside Netball Club went along and invited talented players to join their squads, while an umpire assessor also attended and was impressed with the standard of officiating.
As well as developing new skills, the aim was to give Year Six girls the chance to play seven-a-side netball before they join secondary school.
In league action, Blue Smarties won the under-11s followed by Oldham Red and Hathershaw Hotshots, while Saddleworth Stars beat 2Ds and Hathershaw Thunder to the under-12s title.
Rockets won the under-14s, with Hathershaw Minis taking second and Storm finishing third.
In the final tournaments, Hathershaw Hotshots topped the under-11s, Saddleworth Stars clinched the under-12s, and the under-14s gong went to Hathershaw Rockets.
