NETBALL: HULME made the perfect start to the new netball season with four wins out of four against Loreto Grammar School, from Altrincham.
After a nip and tuck opening, the Year Sevens pulled away to record a 18-3 victory. Faye Harrison was player of the match.
The Year Eights, with Bryony Rhodes and Beth Clinch to the fore, registered a 27-10 success, but the Year Nines had to dig deep to defeat their Loreto counterparts 35-33.
There was no room for error, but a great last quarter clinched a third win on the day for Hulme.
The under-16s team was a mixture of Year 10 and 11 pupils, who dominated their opponents in each of the four quarters.
Hulme posted an emphatic 61-17 victory to complete a fine day’s work.
