Red Devil Maisie living the dream
Date published: 22 September 2010
FOOTBALL: AVRO boss Rob Fuller has to admit his daughter is a little devil!
A Red Devil to be precise, because talented Maisie has been selected to play for Manchester United under-10s this season — even though she has only just turned eight!
Maisie, who attends Moston Primary School, has been playing mixed football with boys at Avro.
Rob said: “She is sad to leave the club but the coaching at United and the chance to play for them was her dream.
“One day she wants to play for England.
“The trials at United were held over the space of four weeks. The club selected nine girls from the 60 that went on trial, one of which was Maisie. Most of the other girls are at least nine years of age.”
Maisie has played the sport since she was five-years-old. The football fanatic wasted no time in making an impact at United.
Playing on the right wing on her debut, she claimed two assists in their 11-4 victory over Crewe.
Rob added: “She just loves football and is getting to do what she always wanted to do.”
