Larty bags brace in close encounter

FOOTBALL: CHADDERTON FC Juniors under-13s saw off Denton Phoenix 5-4 in the Tameside and District Junior League.

James Larty twice found the net, while Liam Hindley, Michael Gill and Jack Garside joined him in the scoresheet.



CURTIS Norris scored five times for AFC Oldham under-14s in a 10-0 victory over Denton Youth Yellows.

He was joined on the scoresheet by Matty Widdowson, Jack Hoyle, Tyler Barker and Jack Howarth, who got a brace.

The under-12s earned a 5-2 win at Brendon Bees thanks to a Kyran Leigh treble and two goals from Liam Standring.



HEYSIDE Juniors under-12s lost 3-2 to St Andrews. Corey Pearson and Owain Jones were on target for Heyside.


PENALTY heartache saw 3D Dynamos under-11s exit the East Manchester Junior League Cup at the hands of Manchester Tigers.

The tie finished goalless, but Tigers won 7-6 in the shoot-out to progress to the next round of the competition.



OLDHAM Rangers Greens under-11s got the better of Rossendale Valley Tigers with a 3-1 victory in the North Bury League.

Dylan Carroll, Ethan Cadd and Patrick Scott were the marksmen.



OLDHAM under-15s are through to the second round of the ESFA Inter Association Trophy without even kicking a ball.

It follows the withdrawal of opponents Calderdale from the competition.

Oldham look to extend their winning run in the league when they travel to take on a strong Bolton side at Sharples School on Saturday (10.30am kick-off).



ROCS under-14s defeated Ashton Pumas in a 10-1 triumph in the North Manchester Girls’ League.

Abby Bennett scored four goals, Leah Bickerstaffe and Ashleigh Spragg got two apiece, with Alys Wild and Robyn Bowerman completing the rout.



KATIE Jones pounced three times in Heyside Angels under-16s 4-0 defeat of Oldham Athletic. Abbie Andrews added another.

Heyside Angels Clarets under-15s drew 1-1 with Heyside Angels Blues. Kelly Ward scored for the Clarets, with Paige Rowland replying.

Jade Hughes, Caitlin Senior, Tia Jackson and Ellie Doggett all scored twice in Heyside Angels Inter under-13s’ triumph over Roach Dynamos. Tanisha Williams also finding the net.

Caitlin Morris and Rachael Johnson got the goals in Heyside Angels Clarets’ under-13s 2-0 win against Bury Girls.

The under-12s Angels Blues saw Emily Pennells, Ellie Morrison and Antonia Keogh score, but they lost 4-3 to Uppermill.
